I used to be obsessed with attending every Sale event everytime I hear there’s one. But with the recent notice of my growing stash, I now try to stay away from these shopping sprees. However this time, I just couldn’t ignore the blinking light on my phone from my dear blogger friend Kimberley, who posted live updates within a Whatsapp group chat that we’re in.
So, I gave in. 😀
BOBBI BROWN CAVIAR & OYSTER PALETTE (U.P.: SGD$99 SALE: SGD$35)
It comes in a cardboard box with pretty different tones of pink pearls printed on it.
With the same Bobbi Brown logo imprinted on the sleek black case, the palette is the perfect size that fits snuggly into my palm.
Upon opening the palette like full-bloomed flower, doesn’t the kit looks awesome offering 8 cubes of neutral eyeshadow shades and a huge highlighter which I thought was blush at first.
Bobbi Brown’s Caviar & Oyster Palette was released late 2012 as part of their Holiday 2012 collection.
Ballet Sparkle Highlighter – Not being too pigmented, it’s a gorgeous highlighter that I love to add on my eyelids as a special touch to make them pop.
Word of caution; be very careful when applying as the glitter flakes fly everywhere. I would advise to apply foundation only after this has been used on the eyes. That being said, I absolutely love the Rose Pink sheen that this highlighter gives off.
Eyeshadows – 4 shades that one could play around for a neutral day time look.
(L-R, T-B: White, Sandy Pearl (Metallic), Pink Opal (Shimmer), Grey Sky)
I would have to admit that these eyeshadows are not the most pigmented that I have got my hands on. However, Grey Sky impressed me with its pigmentation considering that it’s a matte shadow. Also, it’s not chalky where matte shadows usually are.
White – Pure White
Sandy Pearl (Metallic) – Silver Mauve
Pink Opal (Shimmer) – Pearly White-Pink
Grey Sky – Light Grey
(L-R, T-B: Plum Steel (Metallic), Pearl Oyster, Heather Grey, Rich Caviar)
Heather Grey would be an awesome crease color when a natural deep-set-eyes look is ideal. The pigmentation for Plum Steel and Rich Caviar is amazing as well!
With the combination of these 8 eyeshadows and a highlighter shade, I’m excited to play around with different looks with this palette. Being palm sized, it’s also the perfect companion to bring along overseas trips!
MAC Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Dark Diversion (U.P.: SGD$29 SALE: SGD$10)
Being a gel-eyeliner type of girl, I find it much easier to apply my eyeliner using gel formula with a brush as it provides precision and also a stronger color.
Substantially heavy, the product is homed by a glass jar.
The shade I got is Dark Diversion which I believe was promoted during MAC’s Stylishly Yours collection. A limited edition shade, MAC described Dark Diversion to be a darkened burgundy-brown with berry-wine undertones and subtle berry micro-shimmer.
Spot on MAC! The color is exactly what was described. I have been using it since I got it and have already made a huge dent. I applied it using my free brush that comes together with Maybelline’s gel liner.
That’s all I got thanks to Kimberley. Have you been to any sale recently or tried these products? Let me know! 🙂Love,
